The SCAHP Second Quarter Membership Meeting will be on Thursday, June 9 in Columbia, SC at BCBS of SC. This quarter we will hear from Dr. Kapp and Dr. Arrington. More information can be found below.
The address for the meeting is 2501 Faraway Drive, Columbia, SC 29223 in the Alpine Tower. Visitor parking is in front of the tall tower. When you walk in, the meeting will take place in the auditorium to the right. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early due to security.

Meet the Speakers
Dr. Joshua Arrington, PharmD
Dr. Arrington received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from East Tennessee State University in 2010, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He completed a Pharmacy Practice residency at the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC. After completing his residency training Dr. Arrington held multiple clinical pharmacy positions in the hospital setting and assisted in the development of the clinical pharmacy program at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC. Dr. Arrington joined BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina in May 2016, prior to he was a Clinical Consultant with OptumRx, formerly known as CatamaranRx. During his time there he served as the State of South Carolina Employees’ clinical consultant, in addition to managing hospital and employer group clients.
Lloyd M Kapp, Jr, MD, MBA
Lloyd M Kapp, Jr, MD is currently Medical Director for the BlueChoice Health Plan and the BlueCross BlueShield and BlueChoice Exchange Plans at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. He initially started at BlueCross BlueShield of SC as Associate Medical Director in December 2014. He has worked doing utilization reviews, appeals, and peer to peer contacts with providers. He also serves as the lead medical director over case management and assists the nurses and members with making sure the members receive their benefits and find resources to assist with their care.
He currently serves as Chairman of the Lexington/Richland District Five Health Advisory Committee and serves on the DHEC Pediatric Advisory Committee. He also serves on the Executive Committee in the membership and practice management committees for the South Carolina Chapter of the AAP. Previously, he was in private practice for 12 years at Palmetto Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic in Irmo. He also has prior experience with managed care from participation on multiple committees to include utilization management, patient center medical home and physician advisory panels.
Dr Kapp is a board certified pediatrician who received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and completed his Pediatric residency at Palmetto Health Richland/USC School of Medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and he completed a Master of Business Administration at Clemson University in 2019.
